A Business Development Manager position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external business development plan that would increase revenues and profits for Black Diamond Advanced Technology (BDATech). Candidates do not need to be local.

Essential Functions

  • Develop new customers through:
    • Attending industry events
    • Networking within current and new relationships
    • Creating partner business relationships
    • Marketing initiatives and finding opportunities through government opportunity databases (i.e.
  • Develop market intelligence through research (industry and related events, publications, and announcements) and customer relationships and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Enhance BDAT's reputation by maintaining a professional attitude, having pride in company goals and objectives and maintaining personal integrity
  • Work with all BDATech teams to develop detailed proposals for SBIRs, BAAs, FBO RFPs and others
  • Create and maintain leads, contacts, opportunities, accounts and quotes in company CRM database tool (Salesforce). Manages the CRM Database in accordance with the VP of Strategic Planning's guidance.
  • Make frequent visits to customers including partner businesses, military installations and tradeshows

This position has no supervisory responsibility


This position requires 50% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. Some of the travel is international.

Required Education and Experience  

  1. Required travel is 50%
  2. Five + years' experience in related fields to include sales and marketing
  3. A BS or MS degree in business management/administration or other related fields
  4. Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  5. Experience using CRM software
  6. Experience planning and executing business proposals examples are encouraged
  7. Experience working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
  8. Proven track record of increasing revenue through the generation of leads
  9. Must have strong analytical and negotiation skills, and have experience in customer relationship-focused sales and project management

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
